The movement for disability rights was created and fueled by the activism of people with disabilities, families, and allies. This conversation with two nationally recognized disability leaders will capture their individual and collective experience extending from before Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in 1974, through the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990, and the continuing struggle to realize the rights of people with disabilities. Sharing their perspectives as activists from different generations, the session will highlight their roles and contributions, explore the impact of policy changes on their lives, continued challenges, and their vision for the future.
